Rapid Shape D30+ — Technical data

The D30+ was the mid-sized benchtop unit of Rapid Shape's Plus generation. It exposes a 130 × 75 mm build area at 385 nm with a Full HD projector, but offers more build height than the D20+, 110 or 155 mm depending on the document. Its hallmark is the ASM separation module, which detaches finished parts from the platform and starts the next job; usable height then drops to 40 or 70 mm. Force Feedback and RFID material recognition were on board. Straumann sold the unit as the P30+, and an ortho variant printed larger aligner models.

With a used D30+, ask to see the ASM in operation, as faults during separation cost time and build plates. Light calibration, the condition of the vats and the number of print jobs give a picture of wear. The housing is 69 cm tall and needs room above to open the hood. As the PRO 30 has taken over in the same format, it is worth asking how long Rapid Shape or Straumann will supply spare parts, firmware and new resin profiles.
