Rapid Shape D30 II — Technical data
The D30 II belongs to the second generation of Rapid Shape's D series and, according to the user manual, was built from May 2017. A Full HD projector exposes a 130 × 75 mm build area at 385 nm with a pixel size of around 34 µm; layers of 50 and 100 µm were usual. The resin vat can be heated, which shortens print times with viscous resins. Control was via netfabb with Rapid Shape's material database. The unit weighs 44 kg and was also sold as the Straumann CARES P30 and the SheraPrint 30.
The D30 II is now an older machine, correspondingly affordable used, but with open questions about support. Check LED output via the calibration menu and the parallelism of the build platform, both of which the manufacturer prescribes weekly. Vats are wear parts; the manual advises keeping three spare vats in stock. A key question is whether the netfabb licence and a control PC with working software are included. New resin profiles tend to appear for newer machines.
