Rapid Shape D20+ — Technical data
The D20+ was the small benchtop printer of Rapid Shape's Plus generation and was widespread in dental labs and practices. A Full HD projector with 1,920 × 1,080 pixels exposes a 130 × 75 mm build area at 385 nm, with a pixel size of around 34 µm. Build height is mostly given as 90 mm. Typical jobs were models, surgical guides, occlusal splints and temporaries. Straumann sold the unit as the P20+, and there was also a cartridge version. In the current range the PRO 20 occupies the same housing format.
Used D20+ printers are comparatively easy to find. The projector's condition is decisive, since LED output and uniformity decline over the years; a recent calibration log gives an indication. Vats should be clear and free of scratches. Rapid Shape is shifting development and material profiles to the PRO units, so ask the dealer before buying how long spare parts, firmware and new resin profiles will still be available for the D20+. For Straumann-branded units, support may run through Straumann.
