Prodways ProMaker P4500 X — Technical data

The ProMaker P4500 X was the production variant of the P4500 series, which Prodways sold from 2016 as 'powered by Farsoon'. A 100 W CO2 laser and the fastest scanner in the range, a galvo system with dynamic focusing, allow build rates of up to 4.0 l/h according to Prodways. As on its sister models, the build volume is 400 × 400 × 450 mm, and eight heating zones control the powder bed temperature. The high-temperature version with the same laser is the P4500 HT. In 2017 Prodways announced the sale of a ProMaker P4000 X; whether it is identical to the P4500 X is unclear.

A used P4500 X pays off mainly at high utilisation, so laser hours and the condition of the 100 W source are the most important check. Inspect the scanner mirrors and protective window, the heating zones and the recoater. As Prodways no longer offers laser sintering systems, clarify before purchase whether Farsoon or a service partner will supply spare parts and maintain the controls. Ask about exposure parameters for the powders in use and about the powder station, sieve and nitrogen supply. Installation requires heavy lifting gear and sufficiently wide doors.
