Prodways Ceram Pro 405 — Technical data

The Ceram Pro 405 is the single-head variant of Prodways' ceramic printers with a 405 nm wavelength. It shares enclosure, weight of around 510 kg, power supply and the build area of up to 300 × 445 × 350 mm with the 385 but exposes in the visible violet range. This is relevant for ceramic resins whose photoinitiators are tuned to 405 nm and, depending on the slurry, allows a different light penetration depth. Pixel size of 42 µm, layers of 50–175 µm and the modular platform from 75 × 40 mm match the sister models. The 2024 data sheet lists silica and alumina slurries from Sintx as qualified.

Whether a used Ceram Pro 405 is suitable depends mainly on the material: check whether your ceramic resins are developed for 405 nm, otherwise only a projector swap is an option. Ask to see the print history, projector hours and the condition of the vat. As ceramics only acquire their properties after debinding and sintering, a test part run through the whole process chain belongs in the assessment. Service and spare-parts questions must be clarified with particular care because of the planned sale of Prodways' Systems division.
