Prodways Ceram Pro 385 — Technical data

The Ceram Pro 385 forms the middle of the ceramic series Prodways presented in 2024. A moving UV LED DLP head at 385 nm and 90 mW/cm² cures ceramic-filled resins with a 42 µm pixel size and 50–175 µm layer thickness. Compared with the 365, the build area of 300 × 445 mm is considerably larger, with a build height of likewise up to 350 mm; the modular perforated metal platform can be reduced to 75 × 40 mm to tie up little slurry. According to the data sheet, silica and alumina slurries from Sintx are qualified; otherwise the platform is open. Main applications are cores and moulds for investment casting and technical ceramics.

When buying a used Ceram Pro 385, ask which materials were actually printed, as abrasive ceramic fillers wear the vat, blade and platform. A test print with your own slurry followed by sintering is sensible for assessing shrinkage and dimensional accuracy. Also check whether the wavelength matches the planned materials, whether software and parameters are transferred under licence and how service will be organised after the planned sale of Prodways' Systems division.
