Nikon SLM Solutions SLM 500 HL — Technical data

The SLM 500 HL was SLM Solutions' first large machine and, at the end of 2012, the Lübeck manufacturer's entry into multi-laser production. In its 500 × 280 × 325 mm build envelope, four fibre lasers work in two pairs of one 400 W and one 1000 W laser each; the manufacturer called this its patented double-beam technique. It was intended for larger metal parts and series production. It was replaced by the SLM 500, which is offered today with four 700 W lasers; the HL version no longer appears on the manufacturer's websites.

Used SLM 500 HL machines are correspondingly old. Before buying, check the condition of all four lasers and scanners, the function of powder supply and filtration, and whether control system and software still run. Since manufacturer documentation is only patchily available, manuals, wiring diagrams and service records must be part of the deal.
