Nikon SLM Solutions SLM 280 PS (Production Series) — Technical data

The SLM 280 PS is the production version of the SLM 280 series. Build envelope, optics and process data largely match the SLM 280 2.0 – 280 × 280 × 365 mm, two 700 W fibre lasers, 20 to 90 µm layers – the difference lies in powder handling: the docked Powder Supply Vacuum (PSV) stores up to 90 litres of powder, sieves it and conveys it to and from the machine under inert gas; after a job it also serves for depowdering. A permanent filter and standard layer monitoring complete the package. The machine is meant for shops running one alloy over long periods in multi-shift operation.

A used PS should only be bought together with its PSV, since footprint and operating concept depend on it. Check the seals and sensors of the powder loop, the moisture readings of the powder, the hours on both lasers and the condition and service intervals of the filter module. If you plan to change material, allow for thorough cleaning of the closed system.
