Nikon SLM Solutions PSM (Powder Sieving Machine) — Technical data
The Powder Sieving Machine (PSM) is Nikon SLM Solutions' sieving station for the smaller SLM 125 and SLM 280 2.0 machines. It separates coarse and oversized particles from used powder and works under inert gas, so reactive materials can be processed too. The sieved powder goes into a storage container that is fitted directly into the machine's gravity feed. According to the manufacturer, a material change takes less than two hours; ultrasonic cleaning speeds up sieving. Unlike the PSV of the production machines, the PSM is not a closed vacuum loop.
When buying used, clarify which machine and generation the PSM belongs to and whether the containers fit. Also important are the condition and mesh size of the sieves, tightness of the inert gas path and documented cleaning after the last material.
