Nikon SLM Solutions PRS (Part Removal Station) — Technical data
The Part Removal Station (PRS) is part of the SLM 500's production concept. After a job, the exchangeable cylinder is moved from the machine into the station, cooled there under inert gas and unpacked through integrated glove ports, without the operator touching the powder. Loose powder is returned by vacuum hose to the Powder Supply Vacuum, where it is sieved. Because cooling and unpacking take place outside the machine, the SLM 500 can start the next job in parallel; the manufacturer gives the turnaround between two jobs as under one hour.
A used PRS is mainly of interest as an addition to an SLM 500 offered without a station. Check gloves and viewing windows, chamber tightness, the build cylinder mount and the connection to the PSV. The control version should also match the machine.
