Nikon SLM Solutions Build Cylinder Magazine (BCM) — Technical data

The Build Cylinder Magazine (BCM) is optional cylinder storage for the SLM 800 production cell from SLM Solutions, now Nikon SLM Solutions. It only works together with the SLM HUB and, according to trade press, holds up to six build cylinders, which can be preheated before a job and cooled in a controlled way afterwards. This keeps several cylinders ready in parallel while the machines continue building; the magazine becomes worthwhile once at least two SLM 800s are connected to the HUB. While the HUB transports, depowders and sets up, the magazine only buffers. The manufacturer has not published dimensions, connections or capacity.

A used magazine can only be used with a matching HUB and SLM 800 and should therefore ideally be taken over together with the cell. Before buying, check the number and condition of cylinder positions, heating and temperature control, and integration into the HUB control system. As hardly any documents are public, the manual, wiring diagrams and service history must be part of the delivery.
