Meltio Robot Cell — Technical data

The Robot Cell is Meltio's turnkey robotic solution for larger wire-laser parts. Inside a laser-safe enclosure an ABB six-axis robot guides the Meltio Engine deposition head while a two-axis positioner rotates the workpiece. This allows parts up to roughly one metre in diameter and 1.2 m tall. The current version uses the blue laser head with nine diodes; early cells from late 2023 ran with the infrared head. The system weighs around four tonnes, needs three-phase power and argon and is programmed with the Meltio Space slicer.

A used Robot Cell is more of a plant project than a machine purchase. Check the robot controller and its service record, the positioner, protective glasses and diodes of the head, wire feeders and the chillers for head and build plate. Clarify whether safety acceptance, SafeMove configuration and the Meltio Space licence transfer and whether the enclosure can be dismantled for transport. It also matters which head is fitted, as the blue and infrared versions differ in materials and spare parts.

1 · Buy

Matching used machines for this material and build volume.

2 · Let us search

Nothing suitable? We will search for you – or get an e-mail as soon as a matching machine comes in.

3 · Have parts printed

Not worth your own machine? We produce your parts – request from the LayerByLayer 3D printing service.

Buy or have it printed? For small or changing quantities, having parts printed is often cheaper than your own machine. If you regularly fill many build jobs, your own machine pays off.
