Massivit 3000 — Technical data

The Massivit 3000 is the entry model in Massivit's current large-format range and replaces the 1800 Pro. It prints by gel dispensing with one head and one material system in a build volume of 1,450 × 1,110 × 1,800 mm. According to the manufacturer a part grows by up to 35 cm per hour, so a figure around 1.8 m tall is finished in roughly six hours. Three print modes with 0.8, 1.0 and 1.3 mm bead size allow a choice between detail and speed. It processes Dimengel 90, 100 and transparent 300, for example for displays, channel letters and stage sets. A camera with image recognition monitors the print.

Since the 3000 is currently offered, used machines are still young and usually under manufacturer service. When buying, clarify whether the service contract is transferable and which software licences are included. Technically, the condition of print head, gel pump and lines, UV curing, axes and platform matters, as do the hour meters. According to the brochure the 3000 cannot be upgraded to two heads; anyone later needing more throughput or mould making ends up with the 5000.
