Markforged Wash-1 — Technical data
The Wash-1 is the debinding station of the Metal X System. In a solvent bath, most of the binder is dissolved out of the printed green parts before they go into the sintering furnace. Parts up to 356 × 254 × 203 mm fit in the chamber, and depending on wall thickness a cycle typically takes twelve to 72 hours. Approved solvents are Opteon SF79, Opteon SF80 and Tergo Metal Cleaning Fluid. The Wash-1 works with the Metal X and with the FX10 in metal mode, so it remains part of Markforged's process even after the Metal X went out of sale.
A used Wash-1 should be handed over either with documentation of the remaining solvent or drained and cleaned; transport and disposal of the solvent must be arranged beforehand. Check seals, tank and the exhaust connection. The available data sheet lists only a 110–120 V supply, so the mains voltage of the specific unit should be confirmed before buying.
