Markforged Sinter-1 — Technical data
The Sinter-1 is the smaller of the two sintering furnaces in the Metal X System. It densifies parts debound in the Wash-1 at up to 1300 °C under argon or an argon-hydrogen mix into finished metal parts; a cycle takes about 26 hours. The 3020 cm³ working volume in a tube with 141 mm inner diameter suits single parts and small batches, matching shops with one Metal X or FX10. Markforged stopped selling the Sinter-1 on 31 March 2026, with support until the end of 2030; the larger Sinter-2 remains available.
For a used Sinter-1, the condition of heating elements, insulation and tube, and the number of cycles run, are decisive. The site needs a 30 A supply, an exhaust of 100 to 150 CFM and the gas supply. As the furnace is discontinued, the supply of spare heating elements and seals up to 2030 should be clarified.
