Markforged PX100 — Technical data
The PX100 is Markforged's binder jetting system for series production of small, highly precise metal parts and, according to the manufacturer, continues the Digital Metal line. A page-wide print head with more than 70,000 nozzles jets binder into the metal powder bed at 1600 dpi; the build area is 250 × 217 mm with 70 or 186 mm build height, and typical build rates are 500 to 1000 cm³ per hour. Materials include 316L and 17-4PH, tool steels, nickel-based alloys, copper and Ti6Al4V. The printed green parts are then depowdered and sintered in a furnace.
Buying a used PX100 means buying a system, not a single machine: powder handling and sintering furnaces are part of it, and a weight of around two tonnes requires a suitable floor. Check the condition and age of the print head, the powder recoating, the service history and which material parameters are released. For fine metal powders, occupational safety, storage and, where necessary, explosion protection must be settled at the new site.
