Markforged Onyx One (Gen 1) — Technical data
The first-generation Onyx One is the original entry model of Markforged's desktop line, a printer for Onyx without continuous fibre reinforcement. It was replaced by the Gen 2 on 30 June 2019, which in turn was discontinued in 2023. Markforged itself now only offers the discontinuation bulletin for the Gen 1; the old data sheet for part number F-PR-4001 survives via resellers and lists a 320 × 132 × 154 mm build volume, 100 µm default layer height and a weight of 15 kg.
A used Gen 1 Onyx One is mainly of interest if it is very cheap or serves as a source of spare parts for identical units. Manufacturer support ends on 31 December 2026; after that Markforged supplies neither service nor spare parts, and continued operation with Eiger is not assured. Before buying, check part number and generation on the rating plate, ask for a test print and inspect the condition of extruder, nozzle and print bed.
