Markforged Mark One — Technical data

The Mark One was Markforged's first printer and, according to the manufacturer, the first 3D printer designed for composite materials. In a 320 × 132 × 160 mm build volume it deposited nylon and reinforced it with continuous carbon, Kevlar or glass fibre – the principle later adopted by the Mark Two, Onyx Pro and the X series. The finest layer was 100 µm for plastic and 200 µm for fibre printing. Markforged discontinued the Mark One in May 2019, and support ended on 30 June 2019.

Today a Mark One is a machine without any manufacturer support: no spare parts, no service and no assurance that the cloud software still serves the device. It is therefore hardly suitable for production use, rather as a collector's item, for teaching or as a parts donor. Anyone buying one should see it in operation and clarify which software version it last printed with.
