Markforged FX10 — Technical data
The FX10 is an industrial Markforged printer that combines composite and metal printing in one machine and, according to the manufacturer, builds on experience with the X7 and Metal X. In composite mode a direct-drive head with two nozzles lays down Onyx plastics and reinforces them with continuous carbon fibre; the build volume is 375 × 300 × 300 mm and the chamber is heated to up to 60 °C. With the swappable Metal Print Engine the same machine processes bound metal filament such as 17-4PH, which is then finished in a Wash-1 and a sintering furnace. A laser micrometer and a vision module monitor the print.
With a used FX10, first establish what is included: Metal Kit or not, vision module from the factory or retrofitted. Then look at operating hours, the condition of print head, nozzles and bed, and the calibration records. Because the machine is managed through Eiger, clarify beforehand whether the organisation, subscription and premium features pass to the buyer. Anyone wanting to print metal also needs the post-processing chain.
