MakerBot Sketch Sprint — Technical data
The MakerBot Sketch Sprint is the newest and fastest model of the Sketch range, which UltiMaker runs under the MakerBot brand for schools and training. It prints 1.75 mm PLA and Tough PLA through a direct-drive extruder at up to 300 mm/s in a 220 × 220 × 220 mm build volume. The housing is enclosed, exhaust air passes through a HEPA and activated carbon filter, and a camera allows remote viewing and time-lapses. Unlike older Sketch models it is operated with Cura and the Digital Factory, printing on a heated magnetic plate.
Used Sketch Sprint units mostly come from classrooms, where they handle many short jobs. So look for scratches on the magnetic plate, deposits on the nozzle and the condition of the filters; HEPA and carbon filters are consumables. The school or its operator must remove the unit from the Digital Factory and lift the PIN lock if set. At 16 kg and with compact dimensions, shipping is straightforward, but the original packaging protects axes and plate mounting best.
