MakerBot Sketch Large — Technical data

The MakerBot Sketch Large is the bigger version of the Sketch and is aimed at secondary schools and universities that want to print larger projects. The build volume measures 220 × 200 × 250 mm, and the housing is fully enclosed and fitted with a particulate filter. It prints 1.75 mm PLA or Tough PLA through a swappable extruder on a heated, removable flexible surface, with layer heights between 100 and 400 µm. A 2 MP camera and connection to MakerBot CloudPrint via Wi-Fi or Ethernet are part of the equipment.

Used Sketch Large units almost always come from educational institutions. Before buying, check that extruders, build surfaces and filter are complete and intact, and have the unit released from the institution's cloud account. At just over 23 kg and more than half a metre along each edge, it is heavier than the small Sketch; plan for space and transport. As UltiMaker hardly promotes the Sketch Large any more, long-term spare parts supply is uncertain, so it is best to buy spare extruders and plates along with it.
