Lithoz CeraMax Vario V900 — Technical data
The CeraMax Vario V900 is Lithoz's second process line and works not with light-curing resin but with laser-induced slipcasting, LIS for short. A CO2 laser heats a water-based ceramic slurry with very little organic binder layer by layer, and the exposed areas turn into a solid green part. This makes it possible to process dark ceramics such as silicon carbide and to debind much thicker walls. The build envelope reaches up to 250 × 250 × 290 mm, layers range from 0.2 to 1 mm, and the laser scans at up to 8 m/s with a spot of about 0.5 mm. The system is 2.2 m high.
Used V900 units are rare, as the system is used mainly in research and aerospace. Check operating hours and power of the CO2 laser, scanner and F-theta lens, as well as the slurry handling, because dried suspension clogs lines and containers. As the process uses its own water-based slurries, clarify which recipes and parameters are transferred and whether Lithoz material is mandatory. Installation requirements should be requested from Lithoz. Drying, debinding and sintering take place externally, for silicon carbide in suitable high-temperature furnaces.
