KEYENCE VL-570 — Technical data

The VL-570 is the measurement unit of Keyence's 3D Scanner CMM in the configuration with the VL-500 controller and either the VL-550 or VL-530 stage. As with the VL-370, a structured light projector with blue LED measures through two optics; the measuring field ranges from Ø 70 × 50 mm to Ø 300 × 200 mm with ±10 µm accuracy and 2 µm repeatability. The main difference lies in the choice of stage: the VL-550 also moves in X and Y, carries 50 kg and enables the fine mode with 16 million measuring points, while the simpler VL-530 rotates and tilts parts up to 20 kg. Keyence has discontinued the series and names the VL-870 as successor.

When buying a used VL-570, above all clarify which stage is included, as part weight, XY stitching and fine mode depend on it. Measurement unit, controller, stage, light-blocking cover and calibration board should belong together and be calibrated together; a current test report is an important argument. Take over the Keyence-specified computer with the software licence and register the transfer with the manufacturer. Set it up on a stable lab bench in an air-conditioned room.
