HP Metal Jet Powder Management Station — Technical data

The HP Metal Jet Powder Management Station prepares the metal powder for the binder jetting line. It mixes new and recycled powder in a 78-litre mixer holding up to 350 kg, sieves it through a 90 µm ultrasonic sieve and fills the build units at around 2.5 litres per minute. At 1966 × 2079 × 3175 mm and almost 1.2 tonnes it is one of the largest components of the line; with accessories the width grows to over 4.5 m. HP includes the station in the S100 mass-production package; in the smaller S100P a Volkmann powder handling system does this job.

When buying a used station, occupational safety and cleanliness come first: inerting or explosion protection, tightness, and the condition of sieve, mixer and conveying lines. A ceiling height of over 3.5 m in the operating area is required. It should also be documented which alloys were processed and whether the station comes with vacuum pump and accessories.
