HP Metal Jet Curing Station — Technical data
The HP Metal Jet Curing Station cures the printed green parts before they are depowdered. After printing, the build unit is moved into the station; curing gives the parts enough strength for depowdering and handling until sintering. According to HP the station weighs 400 kg and needs a 16 A three-phase supply with a power draw of 3 kW. In the S100D development configuration the printer performs curing itself; the S100P includes one curing station and the S100 package two. The separate station frees the printer sooner for the next job.
Anyone buying a used curing station is usually expanding an existing S100D or S100P. Key points are the condition of heating, temperature control and exhaust, the interface to the build unit and the software version. Service records and a log of the last temperature calibration should be available, as curing directly affects green part quality.
