The HP Jet Fusion 5420W is a Multi Jet Fusion system that produces only white parts from HP 3D HR PA 12 W. It is based on the 5200 series platform: effective build volume 380 × 284 × 380 mm, 0.09 mm layers, and a full build takes about 13.5 hours according to HP. It targets applications where parts stay white or are dyed afterwards, such as orthoses, lamps or consumer goods. HP launched the 5420W in Europe and the US from January 2023; the solution includes its own processing station for the white powder.

When buying a used 5420W, make sure the matching white processing station is included and that no grey powder has entered the system, as contamination affects colour consistency. The usual MJF checks apply as well: print hours, condition of printheads and lamps, service history, transferability of software licences and a three-phase supply of up to 50 A.
