HP Jet Fusion 540 — Technical data

The HP Jet Fusion 540 is the black-and-white model of the 500 series and shares housing, build volume and electrics with the colour-capable 580. In a 332 × 190 × 248 mm build volume at 0.08 mm layers it produces parts with a black core and a white surface, such as prototypes and small functional parts. The material is HP 3D High Reusability CB PA 12. Material preparation is built in and the connection is single-phase. According to the manufacturer's catalogue, a later upgrade to colour printing was not planned. HP lists the 540 only in support.

Used 540 units are relatively inexpensive and easy to install, but the discontinuation means checking the supply of printheads, agents and CB PA 12 powder. Check usage, the condition of heating and fusing lamps, service logs and whether HP's cloud connection still works, which the catalogue lists as required for operation and service.
