The HP Jet Fusion 5200 has been the base model since 2019 of the production platform that also underlies the 5210, 5210 Pro, 5420W and 5600. Its effective build volume is 380 × 284 × 380 mm; depending on print mode, a full build takes 9.4 hours (Fast), 12 hours (Balanced) or 13.5 hours (Robust). Compared with the 4200 generation, the series introduced a higher-resolution thermal camera and the HP 3D Process Control software, among other things. Materials range from PA 11 and PA 12 to glass-bead-filled PA 12 GB, polypropylene and TPU01. HP names production environments from about 200 parts per week as its field.

Since the 5200 has been in the field for years, used units vary widely in condition. Key points are print hours, number of builds, service records, the condition of printheads, lamps and recoater, and which processing station, build units and cooling units are included. Check in advance whether HP subscription and service models can be transferred.
