HP Jet Fusion 3D Build Unit (M0P45A) — Technical data

The HP Jet Fusion 3D Build Unit M0P45A is the exchangeable build unit of the first MJF generation around the 3200, 4200 and 4210 printers. The build is created inside it; after printing, it moves with the powder cake to the processing station for cooling and unpacking. According to HP, the printer's standard configuration includes one build unit; only with a second can the printer continue while the previous job cools. The unit weighs 135 kg and is still listed as an accessory in the HP Store.

Used build units are a sensible addition if a 4200 system is to be used more intensively. Check the build platform and piston drive, heating elements, seals, wheels and the electrical contacts to the printer. Powder carry-over between materials should be ruled out. As the platform is discontinued, buying mainly pays off while support and spare parts are still promised.
