HP Jet Fusion 3D Automation Accessory — Technical data

The HP Jet Fusion 3D Automation Accessory attaches to an MJF printer of the 5200, 5400 or 5600 series and automatically exchanges the build unit after a job. This lets the printer produce two jobs in a row without operator intervention, for example overnight or at weekends. HP introduced the accessory in May 2023 and describes it as ready for integration with autonomous mobile robots. According to reseller data it weighs 262 kg, is powered through the printer and needs compressed air of at least 6.5 bar; the printer's footprint grows to 2560 × 1908 mm. Not all materials are approved – TPU01, for instance, is missing from HP's list.

When buying used, make sure the accessory fits your printer model and firmware version and that there is room for the larger footprint. Check the mechanics, guides and sensors of the changer as well as the compressed air supply. Its benefit depends on having enough build units available.
