HP Jet Fusion 3200 — Technical data

When launched in 2016, the HP Jet Fusion 3200 was the smaller sister of the 4200 and processed polyamide 12. Housing, build volume and electrics match the 4200; according to HP's 2016 brochure, however, the 3200 is slower at 3,500 cm³/h and limited to layer thicknesses of 0.08 to 0.10 mm. HP quoted the build volume at the time as 406 × 305 × 406 mm; later documents for the platform give an effective 380 × 284 × 380 mm. It was paired with a basic processing station with manual unpacking or with the fast-cooling station. HP now lists the 3200 only in support.

Used, the 3200 is an inexpensive way into MJF, but with limitations: spare parts, printheads and agents must still be available, and support is likely to end on a similar timeline to the 4200. Before buying, check usage, the condition of printheads and lamps, the type of processing station and the approved materials.
