Formlabs Form Wash (1. Generation) — Technical data
The first-generation Form Wash is the washing station Formlabs offered together with the Form Cure for the Form 2 and Form 3 printers. The build platform with the parts attached is hung into an 8.6 l bucket of isopropyl alcohol or TPM, a magnetically coupled impeller agitates the solvent, and after the set time the unit lifts the parts out so they do not stay in the bath too long. Parts up to 145 × 145 × 175 mm fit, i.e. the full build volume of the Form 2 and Form 3. It weighs 6.7 kg and draws only 50 W. It was replaced in 2024 by the larger second generation.
Used, the Form Wash is inexpensive and a sensible addition to a Form 2 or Form 3. Check the bucket for cracks and discolouration, whether the impeller runs freely, the lift arm and the lid seal. The unit should be handed over empty, as isopropyl alcohol is flammable and counts as dangerous goods in shipping. For Form 4 parts the second generation is the better choice, as its bucket is larger.
