Formlabs Form Cure (2. Generation) — Technical data
The second-generation Form Cure arrived in 2024 with the Form 4 and is designed for its resins and short process times. 48 LEDs at 405 nm with 150 W of power plus heat up to 100 °C post-cure parts on a 23.5 cm turntable up to 24.5 cm tall. Formlabs cites four times the UV power, five times faster heat-up and a 1.3 times larger chamber than the first generation; for Form 4 prints, 60 seconds is sometimes enough. Presets cover more than 45 Formlabs resins. The EU version needs 230 V with up to 8 A, and the weight is 12.1 kg.
When buying used, a function test is worthwhile: all LEDs should light up, the turntable should run evenly and the chamber should reach the set temperature. Pay attention to the voltage version – Formlabs supplies separate 120 V and 230 V models – and to current firmware with the material presets. Discolouration or resin residue in the chamber indicates unwashed parts. Owners of a Form 3 or Form 2 can also use the second generation.
