Formlabs Form Cure (1. Generation) — Technical data

The first-generation Form Cure is Formlabs' post-curing chamber from the era of the Form 2 and Form 3. It combines 405 nm light from 13 LEDs with heat up to 80 °C; a turntable with a 19.3 cm diameter ensures even exposure, and parts up to 18.5 cm tall fit. Formlabs provides recommended time and temperature combinations for its resins, because only post-curing delivers the material properties stated in the data sheet. The unit weighs 5.6 kg and draws 144 W. Since 2024 there has been a second generation with a larger chamber; according to the Formlabs shop, the first is still offered.

Used, the Form Cure is inexpensive and straightforward. Check that all LEDs light up, the turntable rotates and the chamber reaches the set temperature – a test run with a thermometer is enough. Resin residue or discolouration inside suggests parts were put in unwashed. Ask for the external power supply, which Formlabs also lists as a spare part.
