Formlabs Form 4BL — Technical data

The Form 4BL is the biocompatible variant of the Form 4L for dental labs, clinics and medical technology with large batch sizes. Like the 4L, it works with a Light Processing Unit 4L (145 LEDs, 405 nm, 46 µm pixels), a build volume of 35.3 × 19.6 × 35.0 cm and two resin cartridges. It is released for 32 Formlabs resins, 12 of them biocompatible, for example for entire platforms full of models or splints; Open Material Mode is also available. Formlabs introduced it in October 2024 together with the Form 4L as the successor to the Form 3BL.

With a used Form 4BL, documentation counts as much as the hardware: which resins were run, were tanks kept separate, are there maintenance records? Check the LPU error log, the glass surface under the tank and the camera. The 9 A, 900 W connection and the 58.5 kg weight need to be planned for. Have the printer removed from Dashboard and Fleet Control and ask about remaining warranty or a service plan; second-generation Form Wash L and Form Cure L are matched to this format.
