Formlabs Form 3L — Technical data

The Form 3L is the large-format member of the Form 3 family. Two staggered Light Processing Units of 250 mW each expose a build volume of 33.5 × 20 × 30 cm – five times that of the Form 3+, according to Formlabs – at 25 µm XY resolution and layer thicknesses from 25 to 300 µm. The printer weighs 54.4 kg, measures 77 × 52 × 74 cm and draws up to 650 W. Typical uses are large prototypes, casting patterns, fixtures and platforms full of small parts. Introduced in 2019, the Form 3L was succeeded by the Form 4L in October 2024.

On a used Form 3L, check both LPUs: error messages in the log and a test print across the whole platform show whether they work together cleanly. Also check the large resin tank and its film as well as the build platform. Because of the weight, plan transport and installation; Formlabs recommends about 90 × 96 × 104 cm of space.
