Formlabs Form 3BL — Technical data

The Form 3BL combines the large build volume of the Form 3L (33.5 × 20 × 30 cm) with release for Formlabs' biocompatible resins. It is aimed at high-throughput dental labs – many models or splints per print – as well as medical technology companies and clinics producing large anatomical models. Technically it works with two Light Processing Units of 250 mW each, 25 µm XY resolution and two resin cartridges; it weighs about 54 kg. Its successor is the Form 4BL with LCD-based exposure.

A used Form 3BL is worthwhile above all when the documentation is complete: service reports, tank history and which biocompatible resins were processed. Since two LPUs are installed, both should run without errors; a test print across the whole platform reveals deviations. The connection of up to 8.5 A and the weight must be taken into account at installation. Clarify the transfer from Dashboard and Fleet Control, any service plan and whether suitable washing and curing units are part of the package.
