Formlabs Form 3+ — Technical data

The Form 3+ is the revised version of the Form 3 and was Formlabs' desktop SLA printer until the Form 4 arrived in April 2024. The principle stayed the same: Low Force Stereolithography with a flexible tank, a Light Processing Unit with a 250 mW laser and an 85 µm spot, and a 14.5 × 14.5 × 18.5 cm build volume. Formlabs cites improved LPU stabilisation, temperature sensing closer to the print bed and a wider laser power range, which is said to cut print times by 20 to 40 % depending on the resin. Build Platform 2 with quick release was added as an accessory.

For buyers the Form 3+ is attractive because resins, tanks and accessories remain available. Check the serial number and rating plate, as it looks much like the Form 3 from the outside. Important points are the print history in Dashboard, LPU error messages, the number and age of the included resin tanks and whether a Build Platform 2 is included. Have the seller remove the device from their account and ask about the remaining term of any service plan.
