Farsoon FS422M — Technical data
The FS422M is the second generation of Farsoon's 400-class metal system and is designed for continuous series production. Four fibre lasers of 500 or 1,000 W, optionally with beam shaping, expose a 425 × 425 × 550 mm build cylinder. As part of the CAMS concept (Continuous Additive Manufacturing Solution) it is designed for short changeover times between builds; at 5,000 × 2,900 mm and around 3.7 t it is correspondingly larger than the earlier FS421M. 316L, AlSi10Mg, IN718 and Ti6Al4V are released, with further materials such as copper and high-temperature alloys in development. Farsoon shows applications such as tube-and-shell heat exchangers.
When buying a used FS422M, the laser option and the condition of all four beam sources count most. Calibration records for the overlap, filter and gas flow system, recoater and the CAMS components for changing and unpacking should be checked. Missing modules reduce usefulness considerably. The site needs a 30 A three-phase supply, argon or nitrogen, sufficient floor space and a concept for reactive powders.
