Farsoon FS301M — Technical data

The FS301M was a medium-sized Farsoon metal laser melting system with a 305 × 305 × 400 mm build volume. According to reseller data it was available with one or two 500 W fibre lasers; the digital three-axis galvo system reaches 15.2 m/s and the spot size is around 75 µm for contours. The machine weighs about 2.8 t and processes stainless and tool steels, nickel alloys, aluminium and titanium at layers of 0.02 to 0.1 mm. It sat between the FS271M and the FS421M in the range and no longer appears on the current Farsoon site; the FS273M and FS350M are of similar size today.

Before buying a used FS301M, establish whether the single- or dual-laser version is offered and whether a calibration record exists for two lasers. Checkpoints are laser hours, scanner, filters and gas tightness, recoater and controls. As the model has been discontinued, spare parts supply and service from Farsoon Europe should be confirmed in writing beforehand.
