Farsoon FS273M — Technical data

The FS273M is Farsoon's medium-sized single-laser metal system and the successor to the FS271M. The build cylinder measures 275 × 275 × 355 mm, and a small Ø 165 mm round cylinder is available for material trials. Exposure is by a 500 W fibre laser, optionally 1,000 W with beam shaping, via F-theta optics at up to 10 m/s. Farsoon releases a wide range of materials, from titanium and aluminium through tool and stainless steels to nickel alloys and CuCrZr. Compared with the FS271M, a revised recoater, integrated filtration and a preheatable build plate were added. The dual-laser version is called FS273M-2.

When inspecting a used FS273M, note the year of manufacture, as housing and weight differ between early and current versions. Key checkpoints are laser hours and laser option, filter condition, oxygen measurement, recoater and build plate heating. For reactive powders the site must provide explosion protection and safe filter handling. BuildStar and MakeStar licences and existing parameter sets should be handed over.
