Eplus3D EP-S600 — Technical data
The EP-S600 is an Eplus3D laser sintering system tailored to polypropylene and promoted above all for orthoses and other medical aids. Despite its name, it works with plastic powder, not sand. The build volume measures 420 × 380 × 600 mm, comparatively tall, and exposure is by a CO2 laser of 50 W, optionally 120 W, at up to 15 m/s with layers of 0.1–0.3 mm. Four heating zones reach up to 130 °C, which suits the low melting point of PP. According to the manufacturer, one orthosis takes less than eleven hours.
Used, the EP-S600 suits medical supply stores and orthotic technicians who want to make PP parts in-house; it is not designed for polyamide. Check laser power, heaters, temperature measurement, recoater and exhaust filter, as PP tends to warp if temperature control is off. Ask to see build jobs with orthoses and clarify whether powder stock, parameter sets and the software running on Windows 7 or 10 are included.
