EOS EOSINT P 380 — Technical data

EOS introduced the EOSINT P 380 in 2001 as a plastic laser sintering system. A 50 W CO₂ laser sinters the powder in a 340 × 340 × 620 mm build volume, considerably larger than that of the later compact FORMIGA. Typical layer thicknesses are 0.1 to 0.15 mm, with a laser focus of around 0.6 mm. The EOSINT P 390 later followed with the same build volume. On the used market, P 380 machines appear in original condition as well as upgraded to P 390 level or modified by third-party companies. The system has long been discontinued.

With a used P 380, first establish the actual configuration: original, upgraded to P 390 or third-party conversion, since laser, scanner, heating, controls and software depend on it. Check laser hours, heaters, recoater, exchangeable frames and the nitrogen supply. The connection requires 400 V at 32 A. Spare parts for this generation are scarce; clarify in advance which service company supports older EOSINT systems.
