EOS EOSINT M 280 — Technical data
EOS presented the EOSINT M 280 at the end of 2010 as the successor to the M 270. It adopted the earlier concept, raised the build height to 325 mm on a 250 × 250 mm footprint and, besides the 200 W fibre laser, offered an optional 400 W laser for shorter build times. It operates under nitrogen from the built-in generator or under argon, which is required for titanium and aluminium. According to EOS it was designed for tooling and series production; the EOS M 290 followed in 2014.
Used M 280 machines come up regularly. Decisive factors are the laser version (200 or 400 W) and measured actual output, laser hours, the condition of scanner, optics and recirculating filter, and the unlocked parameter sets; a developer licence with parameter editor adds value. Also clarify the process software version, argon equipment, the included powder handling with sieving and conveying modules, a wet separator vacuum for reactive powders and a 3 × 32 A supply at the installation site.
