Envisiontec GmbH D4K — Technical data

The D4K is a high-resolution benchtop DLP printer from EnvisionTEC, listed under Desktop Metal as the ETEC D4K. A 4K DLP projector with a 385 nm UV LED cures a 148 × 83 × 110 mm build volume at a native 50 µm and enhanced 25 µm XY resolution, with layer heights from 25 to 100 µm. A patented separation system keeps peel forces between layers low. The printer targets fine parts for jewellery, dental work and small end-use components; it processes ETEC resins and, under licence, third-party materials. At 56 kg with a mains supply up to 240 V it is a lab device. Since 2025 it has no longer belonged to Desktop Metal.

Used D4K units are mainly of interest to jewellery casting shops and dental labs. Check projector hours and light output, the resin vat and its membrane, the platform and available calibration data. It matters whether an open material licence is unlocked, as otherwise you are tied to manufacturer resins whose supply must be clarified after the change of ownership.
