Envisiontec Einstein — Technical data

The Einstein is the entry model of a dental printer series that Desktop Health, the dental arm of Desktop Metal, introduced in early 2022 based on EnvisionTEC technology. It exposes continuously with a 2K DLP chip at 385 nm and, according to trade press, achieves 99 µm native and 65 µm enhanced XY resolution. The build volume is around 190 × 107 × 102 mm, flatter than the Einstein Pro, which allows taller models. Layer thickness can be set dynamically between 25 and 150 µm. At about 34 kg with a 41 × 41 cm footprint, it is meant for practices and labs, for example for models, splints and temporary restorations.

For a used Einstein, material approvals are the key point, because dental resins must be validated for the specific device and medical device requirements continue to apply after a sale. Check beforehand whether your applications can manage with 102 mm of build height. Also important are projector hours, vat and film, platform, calibration records and the software licence. Since the sale of EnvisionTEC GmbH, it should be clarified who supplies service and resins.
