DWS XPRO S — Technical data

The XPRO S is DWS's large-format industrial system with a build volume of 300 × 300 × 300 mm. It was presented at Formnext 2017 and shipped from May 2018. A BlueEdge solid-state laser exposes layers from 10 to 100 µm via a galvanometer scanner. The system is intended for concept and functional models, investment casting patterns and master models for silicone moulds, processing ABS-like, PP-like and rubber-like resins as well as transparent and ceramic-filled materials. The machine is just over two metres tall and weighs 500 kg.

A used XPRO S needs transport planning: 500 kg, more than two metres tall and a vat that must be emptied before shipping. After that, the condition of the laser is decisive; DWS service or a dealer can read out its operating hours and output. The large resin vat is expensive to replace, so look at fill level, resin age and deposits on site. Licences for Fictor and Nauta+ should be transferable. A maintenance contract or the latest service reports give an insight into how it was run.
