DWS DW 029XC — Technical data
The DW 029XC is a stereolithography printer from DWS's 029 family, mainly for jewellery and other finely detailed parts. It offers a build volume of 170 × 170 × 200 mm, more than the older 029X with its 150 × 150 mm footprint, in the same 1.40 m tall housing. A BlueEdge laser exposes layers from 10 to 100 µm; with the high-performance laser the unit is called 029XCHR. It is controlled from a supplied external PC with Nauta+ and Fictor, and for casting houses there is the XCluster module for building casting trees. The machine weighs 150 kg.
Used 029XC units usually come from jewellery businesses where they ran castable resin. Before buying, establish whether it is the standard or HR version, how many laser hours have accrued and when the last service took place. The external control PC and the licences for Nauta+, Fictor and, where relevant, XCluster are essential. At 150 kg the unit needs a solid floor and help with installation, and the vat must be emptied for transport.
