DMG Mori LASERTEC 65 DED hybrid — Technical data
The first LASERTEC 65 DED hybrid is a five-axis milling centre from the monoBLOCK series with a laser head for powder deposition welding, built by subsidiary Sauer. According to DMG MORI it has been on the market since 2013, first as the LASERTEC 65 3D, then as the LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid. The head is changed in like a tool and deposits metal powder with a 2 kW diode laser at up to 1 kg per hour; the same machine then mills the part to finish. Travels are 735, 650 and 560 mm, and workpieces up to Ø 500 × 400 mm and 600 kg are possible. The second generation followed in 2026.
A used system is both machine tool and laser system; inspect each separately. On the milling side, spindle hours, geometry and crash damage count; on the laser side, diode hours, optics, powder nozzles and powder feeders. Spare nozzles should be included. As the powder flows freely into the work area, extraction and the safety concept belong in the acceptance check. Also ask about the Siemens control with CELOS, CAM chain and licences. Third-party data give around 12 m² of floor space; shielding and carrier gas are needed.
