DMG Mori LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM — Technical data

The LASERTEC 30 DUAL SLM is the twin-laser version of the LASERTEC 30 SLM and came out in 2020 (Pfronten open house, in June Japan). Two fibre lasers of 600 W each cover the whole build field, and the focus can be set between 50 and 300 µm. DMG MORI quotes up to 80 per cent higher productivity than with one laser. The product page gives a build volume of 300 × 300 × 350 mm. The rePLUG powder module is compatible with the LASERTEC 12 SLM, and according to the manufacturer the filters last more than 3,000 hours.

With a used DUAL SLM, check both laser sources individually: operating hours, power in the test report and the calibration of the fields to each other, as offset between the lasers shows at seams in the part. Also important is whether OPTOMET is licensed and which parameter sets exist. Filter changes and protective glasses belong in the service log. As DMG MORI now offers the third generation with up to four lasers, ask how long spare parts and updates are guaranteed.
